PAITHANI SILK (TSM PT002) - Lime Green
A celebration of regal heritage and meticulous craftsmanship, the Paithani saree is often called the "Queen of Silks." Woven in the historic town of Paithan in Maharashtra, this iconic saree is a testament to India's rich handloom tradition and is prized for its elegance, vibrancy, and unmistakable identity.
Made from fine silk and pure zari, a Paithani is distinguished by its richly ornamented pallu, often featuring motifs like peacocks, lotuses, parrots, vines, and the famed “asawali” (flowering creeper)—each one handwoven with a technique that requires immense skill and patience.
What makes Paithani sarees truly unique is the tapestry weaving technique (similar to a hand-painted effect), where each motif is woven individually by hand, much like a miniature painting. Woven from luxurious silk, the true showstopper is the grand copper-gold zari border, adorned with intricate motifs of dancing peacocks and blooming florals in royal shades of blue, green, and violet – a celebration of nature’s beauty in Paithani heritage.
The pallu is a tapestry of grandeur, with traditional vines and bird motifs cascading down in lustrous detail, adding a regal finish. Paired with a rich zari blouse featuring matching woven detailing, this ensemble is perfect for weddings, festive gatherings, or making a lasting impression at any cultural celebration.
